Our Roots

Saint Basil of Caesarea was a man of great learning and deep compassion, dedicating his life to caring for the poor and underprivileged after a distinguished career in theology and law. Known for his eloquence, unwavering activity, and immense charity, St Basil’s legacy lives on through our work. At St Basil’s NSW/ACT, we are proud to carry forward his ethos of selfless care and service. In our strategy update, we are embracing a more progressive, liberal approach to meeting the needs of those who require our care, ensuring that we continue to honor Saint Basil’s mission of compassion and generosity. Just as Saint Basil sought to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, we too strive to enhance the lives of those in our care, providing support with dignity, respect, and kindness.
