St Nicholas Home for the Aged is the latest addition to St Basil’s family. This 20-bed home provides warm, personalised and professional care that is specifically tailored to the diverse needs of the ACT community. At St Basil’s, we believe that food should be good for you, as well as enjoyable! When planning our menus, we are interested to find out the foods that our residents like and enjoy eating.
We offer a choice of nutritious, seasonally prepared meals, in a variety of textures based on the advice of a dietician. Eating should be enjoyed in the good company of family and friends and we welcome visitors during meal times to share a meal or to assist with feeding. Please let us know if you will be joining us for a meal the day before.
St Nicholas Home for the Aged offers accommodation for 20 residents in single and double rooms with ensuites.
At St Basil’s, we want you to feel that you belong to our community and can also continue enjoying your favourite activities and hobbies. When planning our activities we are interested in our residents’ interests and the things you like to do. Our Recreational Activities Officers plan their programs after getting ideas from you.
St Basil’s Canberra comprises lovely buildings set in a relaxing backdrop. Residents have access to internal and external spaces, including a shaded courtyard, and they can rest and relax in the comfortable lounges while taking in the view.
On the grounds of ‘St Nicholas – Home for the Aged’ is St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Canberra. The church was founded in 1967 and dedicated to the 4th Century Christian Saint and Bishop. St Nicholas Name Day is celebrated on 6th December.
