About Us

Who We Are

St Basil’s is part of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation named after St Basil, who lived in the 4th century and established centres to care for the poor and elderly.

Initially providing services for the Greek community, over the years we have grown to provide services for the entire community. We have developed expertise in providing aged care services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate.

Our mission is to care for the elderly, including those in need, with 70 per cent of our residents and clients experiencing financial and social disadvantage. St Basil’s provides a range of aged care services from day centre programs to in-home services, Retirement Living Apartments and respite services to give carers a break. We are located across the Sydney metropolitan area and in Canberra.

In recent years, St Basil’s has embraced Consumer Directed Care (CDC). With CDC, we work in partnership with you to support your goals and aspirations. We are focused on consumer choice and control and endeavour to provide information and assistance as you transition through your ageing journey.

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent. Psalm 71:9
